Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS)

Half a day, once a month. Sorting, packing and recording donated items for container shipment to villages in Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Fiji. RAWCS is a part of Rotary International's work in helping less developed communities around the world.

Local Environmental Education program. Led a three day educational visit, based at the Jauense Water Treatment Plant, for 10-13 year olds. We studied water ecology and treatment, erosion, human settlements and local history. Practical activities, such as tree planting and water analysis, were also undertaken.

AFS International Intercultural Exchanges

Camp leader at pre-departure camps for 15-18 year old students about to leave as exchange students to countries in South America. These were approximately four days in duration. I also provided one-to-one counselling for foreign students in Australia with AFS.
